Yes summertime is here!  It has been REALLY hot here and the kids love having popsicles to eat.  Over the past couple years I have developed some yummy recipes to make some good healthy popsicles for the kids.  Here is one that we love…in fact I think I’ll make some today!  Enjoy!  Oh…if you don’t know what kefir is, read my post about all the health benefits of kefir and how easy it is to make!

Orange Kefir Popsicles

1 cup kefir
2 cups orange juice
1/3 cup honey
2 teaspoons vanilla

In a pitcher, use a wire whisk to mix all the ingredients together. Pour into popsicle molds and freeze.

Note:  If you want to make smoothies out of this recipe, mix all the above ingredients and 8-10 ice cubes in the blender until smooth. These make wonderful smoothies for breakfast!

  1. Just found your recipe using Google; was delighted to find popsicles using Kefir. I've just followed the recipe, and tweeked it to make a smaller batch, plus I used agave in place of honey and a bit of orange puree I had on hand in place of OJ. The tasted lovely going into the freezer, so here's hoping my children will love them when they come out. Thanks for your recipe!
    1. I can't remember where I got them. I am thinking I picked one set up at Walmart and one maybe at Dollar General or Dollar Tree. Oh...I think I found a set at Target too. You just have to look for them. Sometimes they are hard to find. Don't moms make popsicles for their kids anymore? :).
  2. Oh! Yummy! We love our Strawberry Kefir smoothies. I bet these are good too. I need to get some more kefir going! :)
