Singing Canary drink in a quart jar.

A week or so ago someone shared this Singing Canary dry mix online, but I was confused how the instructions stated to make it. So I revised the instructions and made the drink how I like it best!

I have been drinking the Singing Canary drink more often these days because it is so easy to mix up! I love it! Below you will find the directions for making the dry mix, as well as directions on how to quickly mix up a quart of drink. Enjoy!

  1. We are having an extra warm day here in Atlanta, so I thought I'd try to make my singing canary extra cold by adding ice before I blended it. I'm probably not the first, but I just created a singing canary shake that is rocking my world. I filled my quart glass with ice, dumped the ice in the blender, added the dry and wet ingredients from your recipe together with a cup of water. Then blend. Seriously, this tastes like it has to be bad for you! Thank you Sheri for bringing more singing canary into my life!
  2. I'm not seeing the recipe at all. Do I have to sign up to get the recipe?
    1. Oh no! When I was working on my site I deactivated a plugin that formatted my recipes. I got it activated again and now the recipe will show. Thanks so much for letting me know!
    1. The tumeric powder doesn't really dissolve. Either make your drink in a bottle with a lid so you can shake it up before taking a drink, or use a straw to stir each time before you drink.
  3. Is your dry mix based on using 1/2 tsp. or 1 full tsp. of turmeric? I'm loving Singing Canary, am almost craving it, but only w/ 1/2 tsp. turmeric. Hoping to nail the dry mix to make things easier! Thanks for this...
    1. If you use this mix, and use 2 rounded teaspoons like the recipe says to make 1 quart, then yes the rough amount of turmeric is about 1/2 tsp. Hope that helps! Maybe mix up half of the recipe and try the mix out first to see if you like the strength. Enjoy!
      1. Just wanted to let you know, it was PERFECT. Having the dry mix made, so I only need to juice a couple lemons, is a total GAME-CHANGER for me, so I've been having one pretty much every day. Thanks!!
  4. I drink this every single day but I make 5 oolong tea bags to 2 cups water, steep and cool. Use 2 heaping teaspoons of the mix, i cup of the tea, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 scoop baobab, 1 scoop collagen and MCT oil in my hydro flask, add ice cubes and water to fill. Shake and enjoy!
  5. Trying to figure out what a serving per day is? One whole quart? Or 8oz a day? Thanks
  6. If you don't put in the vitamin C powder, how does that change the amount you use for a single quart size serving? I take my vitamin C as a capsule. Thanks!
    1. I would still put the vitamin C powder in it though, even if you take extra vitamin c as a capsule. Most of us don't get enough vitamin C and getting a little bit in the Singing Canary can really only be good for us!
  7. Instead of using fresh lemons, could you used powdered lemon (real lemon has a big jar) in the mix? Might be easier for me than using the blender for fresh lemons.
    1. I would think that would be fine. I don't use fresh lemons either. I just use the bottled lemon juice :).
  8. If I did go ahead and use fresh lemons as the THM recipe calls for, Would I still use the same amount of the mix as you recommended?
    1. Hi Amanda, I keep mine in the freezer, but it would last in the frig (the dry mix) for quite a while I would think -- several months probably or more.
      1. Great thanks! It didn't seem like anything in the dry mix would go bad. Just made one up.
  9. Could you use the True Lemon packets and put them in the dry mix so you wouldn't have to use the lemon or bottled lemon juice? I have some but haven't used any of them in the singing canary.
    1. Hi Pam, You may be able to do that, but it would affect the ratios of the mix. You would have to figure out about how many "servings" is in the mix, then add that many "servings" worth of True Lemon. Then figure out how much of the mix to use for each serving when you make it. Good luck!
    1. Hi Susy, From what I can figure, the dry mix makes about 17 tablespoons of mix. So that would be 51 teaspoons. If each quart takes 2 heaping teaspoons, I figured 2.5 teaspoons per quart. That would make about 20 quarts then.
  10. Hi Sheri, Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I am wanting to make this up for my pregnant daughter so I would like to stick with 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric and 1 teaspoon of baobab instead of vitamin c. How would I figure out my amounts for the recipe? and how much per serving?
    1. Hi Again! Ok, let me break this down. The recipe calls for 1/4 cup tumeric. If the mix makes roughly 20 quarts, that comes out to .6 teaspoons per quart of tumeric. If you replace the vitamin c with the Baobab Powder, then that would come out to .6 teaspoons of Baobab Powder per quart. If you want more Baobab Powder in each quart, then you could probably increase it to a scant 1/2 cup in the dry mix. OR just keep it at 1/4 cup tumeric, 1/4 cup Baobab Powder, and then just add another 1/2 teaspoon of Baobab to the quart when you are making it. I hope that all makes sense! But if you are worried that she stick to the 1/2 teaspoon tumeric in each quart, then the amount of tumeric in the recipe should be ok. It is just if you replace the vit. c with Baobab that you may want to increase that amount if you want a full teaspoon on each quart. Let me know if you still have questions!
  11. Sheri, I have been using this for quite a while. Thank you for coming up with it. Recently I bought the THM Baobab powder and I tried adding a couple of tablespoons to the mix. It is even better! I think I may try a whole quarter cup as I am making it again this morning.
      1. I did like it with a quarter cup of Baobab. I think I may not purchase the vitamin C chrystals again and just stick with this. Again, thank you for posting this alternative that makes my DTS life easier.
  12. Yea! I just discovered this by searching for easy singing canary. I was hoping to find one that didn't use real lemons as I just don't seem to make the time for it when I have to use those. I'm printing and trying your recipe tonight.
  13. How many servings does this recipe make? I may halve or quarter it to be sure I like it before investing my precious THM items :)
  14. Thank you so much for this recipe. I love the Singing Canary drink and this makes it so very easy. I also use the Singing Canary dry mix in my morning hot lemon water (for cleansing and over-all health reasons). I just add 2 teaspoons to a mug of hot water with the juice of one lemon and a 1/2 tsp. MCT oil..(seems to make it smoother tasting). It is delicious!
    1. Hi Linda, If you don't put turmeric in the Singing Canary drink, it will obviously taste a lot different. Taking turmeric pills is fine to do too. My husband takes them for inflamation. But I personally like the taste of the turmeric in this drink. Without it I'm not sure I would like the taste. It would pretty much just be a lemon drink. Just my thoughts.
  15. Any idea what would be the conversion from Truvia with the Stevia in this recipe?
    1. Hi Erin, If you want to use Truvia instead of the stevia powder in this recipe, it would really change the ratios of the recipe. You would have to use a lot of Truvia to replace the stevia. What I would do if you want to use Truvia to sweeten this, is just leave the stevia powder out of the mix, then add Truvia to your drink when you make it. I had one reader who asked about this too, and that is what she did. Hope that helps!
  16. Thank you so much for making this mix. I only have the vitamin C tablets that I would crush into powder, would I use the same amount as the crystals?
  17. Thank you so much for doing this! I love Singing Canary but quit making it because it wasn't quick! I'm bad at conversions- I only have THM Super Sweet. How much of that should I use?
    1. Hi Kim, If you use the THM Super Sweet Blend to sweeten the mix, you are going to add about 1 cup to replace the 2 tsp. of Stevia powder. When you do that, you are going to change the mix enough that you will probably have to use more mix. Instead of doing that, another option might be to just leave the sweetener out of the mix and then sweeten it to taste when you make it. Hope that helps!
          1. Worked out great!! Im so happy to have a quick way to enjoy this tasty drink!! Thanks again!
          2. Yeah! So glad it worked! I love having the mix handy as well. Makes mixing up a quart of Singing Canary so easy! Have a great day!
  18. I Love this simplicity however mine tastes pretty salty. Is it supposed to?
    1. Also I made my concentrate and didn't see it needed to be stored in fridge. Can this be stored in cabinet?
      1. Amber, I store mine in the refrigerator or freezer because of the whey protein in it. But you would probably be ok if you used it up in a reasonable time.
        1. Is the whey protein just an approved protein powder? My powder stays on the counter all the time nory so would it need to be refrigerated then? What whey do you use?
          1. Hi Angie, I have used the THM whey protein and the Swanson's vanilla whey protein. I think there are some ingredients in some of the whey proteins on the market that the THM sisters don't like. But I know people do use some different brands of whey protein and you are probably fine doing that. Hope that helps!
  19. I am so excited to find this. I have not made SC before because it seemed so complicated for this DTS. I will try this ASAP. Any suggestions on where to buy affordable Vit C crystals?
  20. Thanks so much for posting this today!! I just tried the Singing Canary for the first time last week. I loved the taste, but knew it was a little labor intensive to make up day by day ~ this mix will be amazing to have on hand to make the process quicker!! With suspected adrenal issues, I've really felt like I should be using this drink more often.
  21. Sheri, I'm still getting used to the turmeric in the singing canary. The thm recipe calls for 1/2-1 tsp of it and I've just been using 1/4 tsp (only started drinking it last week and have been on plan for 4 months LOL) I was wondering if your measurement for the turmeric is close to the thm recipe or should I cut it down and see how it goes? :) thanks
    1. Hi Stacy! When I use the mix as I have written out here, to me it tastes very similar to the thm recipe. I think what I would do is cut back on the amount of turmeric in the mix (maybe to 1/8 cup) and then use 2 level tsp. when making a quart instead of the rounded teaspoons. Or you could even start with 1 tsp of the mix, taste it to see how it tastes, and then add a bit more. Good luck!
