2 2/3 cups fresh ground whole wheat flour (I used Hard White Wheat berries. Pack the flour in your measuring cup if the flour is freshly ground.)
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup Cocoa
2 t. baking soda
1 t. sea salt
2/3 cup olive oil
2 t. vinegar
1 t. vanilla
2 cups water

Mix together all the ingredients in the above order and pour into an ungreased 9×13-inch pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

Frost with some homemade Butter Cream or Chocolate Frosting!

  1. Hi Sheri! I found your recipe in your ebook from the Homemaking Bundle I purchased last week (Frugal Tips...) and tried this with my boys. This was a big hit! And, perfect as I had not even 1 egg in the house! Thanks for sharing this recipe! I linked your recipe to my blog here --> https://houseofwoyaks.blogspot.com/2013/05/chocolate-cake-obnoxious-song-and-cold.html Thanks, again!
    1. Yes...the eggless chocolate cake recipe (Wacky Cake is what we call it) is our "go to" chocolate cake recipe. We love it too! So glad you and the boys liked it. Have a wonderful weekend! Oh...one other thing nice about this recipe...you can lick the bowl since there are no eggs in it :).
  2. Hi Sheri, Thank you for posting this cake recipe ~ looks yummy! Does this cake have eggs in it? I do not see any listed. Thank you again for your ministry ~
