- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. sour cream (or you can use mayonnaise too)
- 1 T. dried parsley
- 1 tsp. sea salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper (or maybe a little less – I like 1/8 tsp.)
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
Put all the ingredients in your blender and blend just until mixed OR simply put everything in a quart jar and stir up well. Put the lid on then and shake it up to finish mixing. Place in the refrigerator for a few hours to blend flavors.

We make ranch all the time too–almost identical recipe except for 1/2 tsp. of dill. People rave about it and several have sworn never to eat the bottled stuff again–they’re ruined! Even my son-in-law, who exists on Mt. Dew and Taco Bell concedes that this dressing makes “rabbit food” almost good!
Hi Deanna, Would you want to share your recipe? I’d love to try it too! Thanks!
Curious…could you use a food processor to mix this up? I don’t have a blender.
Hi Stephenie, You really don’t have to even do that. I need to add to this post that I just put everything in the quart jar and stir it up. I put the lid on and shake it up good and put it in the refrigerator. I don’t even use the blender. We LOVE this dressing! Enjoy!
