Healthy Granola

Mix the following ingredients together in a saucepan and bring to a boil:

1 cup butter
1 cup honey
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 tablespoon molasses
1 tablespoon cinnamon

In a large bowl, mix up the following dry ingredients:

11 cups rolled oats
1 cup chopped nuts and/or seeds (I like to use almonds!)
1 cup dried coconut
1 cup milled flax seed

Pour the hot syrup over the dry ingredients and mix well, until everything is coated.  Spread the mixture onto two greased cookie sheets with sides.  Bake at 350 degrees for 20 -30 minutes (stirring and rotating pans every 10 minutes).

When done baking, cool on pans, then stir in the following:

2 cups raisins

Transfer to a sealed storage container.

Note:  You can see in the picture the tupperware cereal container I bought to store our granola in.  It works wonderfully!  This batch fills up the container (however as you can see in the picture, we are getting a little low!).  It has a flip top lid so you can easily open it and pour some granola into your bowl!

  1. Hey Sheri, This Granola is yummy! How do I store the Granola? In fridge ? In pantry? How long will it last? Thanks for the encouraging message. Blessings, Sandra
    1. I'm glad you like it! I just store it in the container in the cupboard. If you think you won't it is up very fast, you can also store it in the frig or freezer. But if you will use it up within a couple weeks, the counter or cupboard is fine.
