Natural Cleaners: Dishwasher Detergent & Rinse Agent

I have tried the homemade dishwasher detergent recipes, and our water is too hard and it leaves a yucky film. Â The Miracle II Soap is the only thing I have found to work good that doesn’t leave a buildup. Â I do clean all the food off of the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher.
Dishwasher Detergent
*Miracle II Soap (1/4 teaspoon per load) (found on Amazon here).
Wash all food off of dishes and put in dishwasher.
Add 1/4 teaspoon Miracle II Soap to soap dispenser and run dishwasher as normal.
{Note on cost: Â I know the Miracle II Soap is expensive, but I only use 1/4 t. per load so it lasts a long time. Â I figured my cost is under 5 cents a load. Â That is still cheaper than most other “natural” dishwasher detergents.}
Dishwasher Rinse Agent
White vinegar
Fill rinse agent compartment with white vinegar and refill when needed.
* While I really like the Miracle II products, I do not agree with everything that is put on their packaging or on their website.  Another alternative is the Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Castile Soap, but I don’t agree with everything on their packaging either!
