When dealing with gut issues, whether that is IBS, Crohn’s, or UC, there are usually things that can be done nutritionally to help your body heal without drugs.
Your regular doctor will most likely not know anything about nutrition to be able to help you, but will only recommend drugs. Don’t be afraid to tell them that you want to seek out another opinion before deciding on treatment.
Find a good functional doctor that is willing to work with you. A doctor that will look at diet and see if there are things that can be changed there to help your body heal. A doctor that will do the types of tests to get to the root of the problem and not just put a band-aid on the symptoms.
