The Body of Christ…a Beautiful Thing!

This past weekend I was so blessed to be able to attend the homeschool convention in Oklahoma City, OK. I even got to attend quite a few of the workshops! Over the 15 years that I have been homeschooling, not once have I attended any workshops at a homeschool convention! My husband graciously took our children during the days of the convention and did some fun things with them, allowing me to attend the workshops and browse the vendor hall to my heart’s content. Fun!
I got to sit in on workshops by Barb Shelton and Diana Waring. Both these women were such an encouragement to me! I can’t wait to get the audios (I ordered the whole set!) so that I can listen to all the workshops over the summer!
But the one thing that was even more of a blessing was to be able to meet a dear blog reader (and her family) who has become a dear friend of mine (…Hi Karin!!!). When I found out she was going to be attending the convention in Oklahoma City, I talked to my husband about attending as well. Not only would the convention be fun, but being able to meet this dear friend and her family was putting it over the top!
I was able to sit in on some workshops with my dear friend while we were there and our two families went out to eat one night together. What a blessing! What a precious family!
This morning as I was reflecting on what a good time we had, it made me realize how beautiful the Body of Christ is.
It doesn’t matter what church we go to, what state we live in, or what our interests are….we are all one in Christ!
Sometimes we take for granted those that are around us…the body of Christ…and we don’t realize how much we need each other. God has given us friends to encourage us, fellowship with, to worship with, to have fun with, to cry with, to laugh with, to walk beside us, to love us.
I want to encourage you today to reach out to another brother or sister in Christ and tell them how much you love and appreciate them. Then plan a time to fellowship together!
Just so you know, I appreciate each and every one of you who read my blog. You are a blessing and encouragement to me and I thank the Lord for you!
May each of you have a blessed day in the Lord!
