Last week was a little crazy for me as I was over at my in-laws most all day every day helping my father-in-law. But I was able to get a little reading done and my Bible study while I was there, so I was happy about that. The Bible study I am going through, You Are Loved, has been so good and just what I needed during these difficult days. I think God knew that I was going to need to be in the Word every day and resting in His love and strength. He just amazes me sometimes how He provides for us even before we know what we need!
Here is the book I finished and the ones that I plan on reading this coming week.
1 Book I Finished This Week
Corner Booth – This is the newest book by Chautona Havig and it was another good one! I learned the value of really listening to people. I have to admit that I am one that tends to finish people’s sentences sometimes and finish talking for them. I know that is so wrong and this book really helped me see how important it is to be a good listener. I highly recommend this book!
Books I Plan to Read This Coming Week
Rush Revere and the American Revolution – This is our current read aloud with the kids. We started it last week and we are really enjoying it. While it is a little different than the regular historical fiction that we have been reading, we are enjoying it and look forward to finishing it this week. After we complete this book, I have more books I want to read on the American Revolution. Watch for those recommendations coming soon!
The Art of Work – I made a good dent in this book this week and am finding it very good. I love Jeff’s work and how he encourages you to follow God’s plan and purpose for your life. I’m really looking forward to finishing this one this week!
Harmony Trilogy – This is actually a 3-book series by Nancy Mehl. Since it is based in Kansas, I thought it would be a fun series to read! I know I won’t get through all three books this week, but I look forward to starting this series and maybe getting through the first one!
For the Children’s Sake -I am still making my way slowly through this book and really enjoying it. There is a lot to think about as I read, so it is taking me longer than I thought to finish.
You Are Loved & Own Your Life – I am currently studying through these two books with friends. We read a chapter a week and then discuss together via email or Skype. These studies have been so good and I highly recommend them both!
