DIY: Homemade Moisturizing Oil

I shared a while back that I had run out of my homemade face lotion that I made and that I was going to try something new. Well, I ordered the ingredients to make some homemade moisturizing oil and gave it a try.  Guess what?  I love it!

Using this recipe, I mixed up a batch in a small travel-size bottle I bought at Walmart, and have been using it for a couple weeks now. It was so easy to make and very easy to apply. I am so excited to have found very easy recipes now for my oil facial cleanser, and now the oil moisturizer.

You can read the whole recipe here, but these are the oils that I used. There are some different options for oils, but I decided on what I wanted to try and I love it.

To use, just squirt a very small amount (a few drops) onto your hand and massage all over your face and neck (after you clean your face of course!).

  1. I do this too! I actually use a combination of several oils all great for the skin along with lavender oil, I haven't used lotions in a long time and my skin has never been better!
      1. Rose Hip oil, Argan oil, Tamanu oil and Baobab oil if I have them. I have a dark glass dropper bottle I will put the oils in and use that as my moisturizer. I don't follow any specific recipe I just put fairly equal parts in except I probably use more rose hip in the blend than the others.
    1. Hi Rene, Yes, I think it should work fine for sensitive and dry skin. If you have dry skin and not so much oily, then you may just want to reduce the amount of castor oil you use. The more you use the more it dries the skin. Hope that helps!
