Sugar Cookies, Sick Kids, and Songs to Enjoy!

It has been an interesting week! We started out the week making sugar cookies and decorating them with my husband’s parents.
The kids had lots of fun decorating the cookies with frosting, sprinkles, and mini M&Ms.
We enjoyed sampling a cookie or two when we were done!
Then Monday night one of my daughters started getting sick – fever, sore throat, then upset stomach (part of why I’ve been quiet here on the blog this week). But thankfully she was fine yesterday, only to have one of my sons come down with the same thing last night. I’ve been doing all I can to help them get over this quickly and hopefully the rest of us won’t get it too!
We were planning on making Peppernuts with my parents this week, but are moving that to next week so we can make sure everyone is well enough to enjoy it. These Peppernuts are a recipe handed down from my grandparents. They made them every year and now I make them with my kids. If you go to the recipe, you will see that they are not the traditional Peppernuts, but more of a cake-like cookie. They are SO good too!
In spite of the sickness getting us a little down this week, we are still plugging away at working through our Christmas Bucket List. Have you downloaded your free copy and made out your list yet? It’s not too late!
Before I go, I wanted to share some beautiful Christmas music with you. Enjoy!
I love this song, but this version of it is amazing! Beautiful!
