Our new Compassion child…Oscar

It was December 2009 when we added more children to our family….not biological children, but precious children we started sponsoring through Compassion. Â That December 31st evening, the eve of a new year, we added two children to our family…Jhonny and Sonia from Bolivia…
Jhonny – Age 10
Sonia – Age 8
A year later we added another new member to our family…Wender from Honduras…
Wender – Age 5
We were privileged to sponsor Wender for about a year before his parents removed him from the program. Â We were very sad to see him leave and continue to pray for him and his family. Â Since we are no longer sponsoring Wender, we chose another child from Honduras!
Introducing Oscar…
Oscar – Age 9
We are looking forward to getting to know Oscar in the days, weeks, and years ahead. Â I know we will probably never know how much of an impact we are making in these precious lives. Â I hope that some day we will be able to actually go and visit one or all of our sponsored children….so that we can see them face to face, give them hugs and kisses, and tell them how much we love them.
In the meantime, we write letters, we pray, and we send them little gifts. Â Jhonny loves to draw, so I am tearing out the drawing lessons that come in The Old Schoolhouse magazine and sending one to him each time I mail a letter. Â He is really enjoying those! Â In one letter we got from Sonia, she asked us to pray for her tooth that hurt and that the rain would stop. Â She said there were children with no place to live because their houses fell over from mud slides. Â Jhonny always ends his letters with “big hugs and kisses”…so very sweet.
I want to thank all of you who have supported my ministry through purchasing ebooks….you have played a part in our being able to support these precious children…thank you!
