Making Over My Morning Routine

I am a planner. I am a list maker. I like writing things down so that I can cross them off!
But I find that if I don’t plan, if I don’t have things written down, many times I don’t get much done. I have been working my way through Crystal Paine’s new online course, Make Over Your Mornings, and am learning so much! One of the first things that Crystal has you look at is your morning routine.
What are those things that you need to get done first thing in the morning?
I made a list of all the tasks that I wanted to complete in the early morning before breakfast. Now I have a little advantage because I am up early each morning. I get up at 5:00 a.m. to get my daughter and husband out the door to work. Once they have both left for work, I have a couple hours to do my “morning routine”.
The difference for me has been having a list. I get too easily overwhelmed if I keep everything in my head. I sit there thinking about everything I need to do, and I don’t know where to start.
Once I have a list, I just look at the first item on the list, complete that task, and then move on to the next item until they are all done. I am also less tempted to get sidetracked if I have a list for my morning routine. This is really important when I sit down to do any computer work. It is just too easy to get sidetracked with emails and social media!
So for the past couple weeks I have been working my way through my morning routine (most mornings) and I can’t believe how much more I am getting done.
Do you need more help with your mornings? If so, check out Crystal’s course! I highly recommend it!
