  • 2 cups honey
  • 1/2 cup fresh garlic clove, peeled
  • 1/2 cup fresh ginger root, grated or sliced

Gently warm the honey over very low heat for 1-2 minutes, until it is thin and runny. Do not boil the honey. Place the garlic and ginger into a wide-mouthed jar. Pour the honey over the herbs and stir well. Secure with a lid. Store in a warm, sunny place for 3 days. Stir daily. Strain if you want to – don’t strain if you don’t want to. This is an excellent preventive during cold and flu season. It’s effective against viruses and bacterial and can be taken by the spoonful for warding off sore throats, colds, and coughs. Very good way to get the little ones to eat fresh garlic. The honey really helps!

Store in the refrigerator. You can also use this in cooking!
