Christmas…It’s About the Cross!

We have really been enjoying the music of the Ball Brothers and this song is one that has really touched our family…especially our kids. They love it. There is such a message to this song, especially this time of year. When it is so tempting to allow our focus to stray from what Christmas is all about.
Christmas is not about the manger…
Not about the angels…
Not about the shepherds…
Not about the wise men…
Not about family traditions…
Not about holiday baking…
Not about giving gifts…
It is about the cross…
It is about our sin…
It is about the One who came as a baby to die for us so we could live again.
We can’t look at Christmas without looking at the cross.
Christmas is only the beginning of the story. When we look beyond the manger to the cross…it is what Jesus did on the cross that has saved us.
I pray that as you make final preparations this week for Christmas, that your focus is on the cross…on what Jesus did for you and for me…the very reason He came…to SAVE US! Praise Him!
