We have had a fun and busy summer and now I am ready to settle into our new school routine! Â Yes…we are starting our homeschool year today! Â I thought I would do a quick post sharing what we will be studying this year. Â I am so excited! Â Here we go…
7th Grader:
Spelling – I am going to use this free online spelling program – www.HomeSpellingWords.com to do a good review of spelling.
Math – Teaching Textbooks Math 7
Math Drill – Flashmaster
English – Essentials in Writing
Geography, Science, Music, Art, History – My Father’s World Exploring Countries and Cultures
Spanish – Spanish Made Simple – We are going to orally work through this very informally in the afternoons right before our read-aloud time.
2nd Grader:
Handriting Practice – I am using my Create Your Own Penmanship Pages series for this!
Math & Math Drill – Abeka’s Arithmetic 2Â (student text only along with the tests and speed drills booklet)
English – Primary Language Lessons (I plan on working through this orally as we will be doing a lot of writing with the MFW curriculum)
Reading Lessons – Funnix Reading Program
Spelling – I am going to use this free online spelling program – www.HomeSpellingWords.com and see how it goes.
Geography, Science, Music, Art, History –Â My Father’s World Exploring Countries and Cultures
Spanish – Spanish Made Simple – We are going to orally work through this very informally in the afternoons right before our read-aloud time.
Kindergartner:
Handriting Practice – I am using my Create Your Own Penmanship Pages series for this!  I may also use some of my copywork ebooks for more fun writing practice in the second semester.
Math – Abeka’s Number Skills K (student text only)
Reading Lessons –Â Funnix Reading Program
Geography, Science, Music, Art, History – My Father’s World Exploring Countries and Cultures – My kindergartner will listen in some on these lessons and be included in the activities.
Spanish – Spanish Made Simple – We are going to orally work through this very informally in the afternoons right before our read-aloud time.
Preschooler:
Core Curriculum – Learning for the Littles – A Preschool Notebook
Introduction to the Alphabet and Handwriting Practice – I plan on starting my preschooler out with Diane Hurst’s Easy Peasy Penmanship, then moving to my own  Create Your Own Penmanship Pages for more letter writing pratice.
Math – Abeka’s ABC-123Â for an introduction to math skills and beginning reading skills

As you can see, I will be a busy lady this school year! Â I am excited to be learning right along with the kids, though…it should be a fun year! Â I pray each of you who are homeschooling will have a blessed year as you teach and train your children at home.
