As 2012 draws to a close, it is time to reflect back on what we got accomplished this past year and begin to set some new goals for the coming year. I took some time yesterday afternoon to look over the goals I had set for 2012. While I did not accomplish all of them, it was neat to see how many things I did get done! Yeah! I printed out the new “goals” pages for 2013 (from The Intentional Planner) and began to jot down some goals for the new year. Today I want to take more time to finish these lists and put them in my Intentional Planner…all ready to begin working on in the new year!
I wanted to share with you some of the areas I will be working on in the coming year.
BUSINESS GOALS:
WEBSITE CHANGES! – If you haven’t visited my website recently, click on over and check it out! I know it is not the new year yet, but I just wasn’t quite happy with how my website was set up. I am not totally finished with all the changes, but I am making progress and am really excited about it!
REQUEST DOWNLOAD LINKS! – One feature I just added will be such a blessing to you (I hope)! If you have purchased ebooks from me in the past and either did not get the download links, the links expired, or your download files were deleted or lost somehow, you can now go in and request the ebook download links be sent to you again! Simply go to the Contact Us page, enter the email address you used when you checked out (i.e. Paypal email address) and click the button. The download links for any ebooks you have purchased from me in the past will be immediately emailed to you! How cool is that!
NEW EBOOKS! – I am currently working on totally reworking and expanding my ebook about writing and publishing ebooks. I have learned so much since I first wrote that ebook and want to share it with you. I can’t promise when it will be done, but my goal is to have it done by the end of January. Other ebooks are in the works too!
KINDLE BOOKS! – One area I want to focus on this year is getting books published for the Kindle. I know I LOVE my Kindle and want to make as many of my books available in Kindle format as well. Kindle format will obviously not work for my ebooks that are meant to be printed, like many of the homeschool ebooks I have done. But I am excited about doing some more content based ebooks this year. Yes…I am going to be doing more writing! Can’t wait!
PERSONAL GOALS:
DAILY BIBLE READING – This is an ongoing goal each year!
GET TO BED EARLIER – We are terrible about staying up late and this is an area I really want to work on this year.
WEIGHT LOSS – This is an area that has been on my “goals” lists ever since my youngest was born (yes, that was 5 years ago!). Having had five children, and the last three so close together, I packed on a few pounds that needed to come off! I have tried over the past several years and have lost some, then gained it back, etc. You know how that goes. I couldn’t understand why I could not lose, as I was eating pretty healthy and watching the sweets. Well…in October of this year a brand new book came out called Trim Healthy Mama. It has changed my life! This book is written by two Christian sisters who took the past 5 years to research, test, and write this book. I can’t give away all that is in it, but I will say that it is not about the latest fad diet, it is not about cutting out any food groups (except sugary processed foods…if you consider that a food group!), and it is NOT about eating bland boring foods. Trim Healthy Mama will show you how to eat in a way that helps you accomplish what you need to…whether that be to lose weight, gain weight, or maintain your weight. I have tried many of the recipes and they are so good too! You really just have to get the book. Since beginning to change my eating habits about 1 1/2 months ago, I have list 15 pounds. I am so excited! I have 15 more to go to reach my goal weight. So I am well on my way to achieving this goal this year…and I know that I will be able to maintain that weight too! Yeah!
EXERCISE – Now that I am seeing some good progress with some weight loss, my next goal is to begin exercising regularly. My plan is to do the T-Tapp 15 minute workout 3-5 days a week.
FAMILY GOALS:
BE MORE INTENTIONAL – I don’t want life to happen to me, I want to live fully each day.
ADD BEAUTY TO MY HOME – I am not really a decorator, but this year I want to take a look at each room of my home and organize and decorate it so that it is warm and inviting and useful to my family. I love this quote, “Homemaking is about making a home, not about making perfection.”
FOCUS ON SERVING – An area I need to work on with the kids is serving others more. Whether that is daily and weekly chores (serving the family), doing kind and helpful things (serving each other), or ministering to others outside out family. I am actually going to work on these in this order, because I really believe that you cannot serve others until you have learned to serve those in your own family. This goes back to one of my goals from this past year…to really learn to love. Serving is simply an outward expression of love. So…LOVE is going to be a theme this year in our home…learning how to love deeply and love well, and then how to give love by serving.

Well, this wasn’t an exhaustive list, but were just some of the goals I had jotted down so far.
How about you? Are you taking some time today to set some goals for the new year? I’d love to hear what you plan on working on in the coming year…share in the comments if you wish!
