Peace comes not in the planning, but in the Person!

You all know how much I love to plan. I plan meals, plan homeschool, plan cleaning, plan my goals, and on and on. But the other day I was contemplating where peace is in all of that.
Does peace come through all my planning, or does peace come in the Person of Jesus Christ?
I can have such well thought out plans and seem to have a sense of “peace” about the days ahead, but without Jesus is there really peace?
Am I relying on being organized to bring me peace instead of relying on the only One who can give me true peace?
As I prepare for the new homeschool year, I am plagued with fears — Fears of not doing enough, fears of not preparing my kids for the future, fear of running out of time, fears of messing them up, fears of not being the mom I should be, fears of failing to meet all my goals for the year, and it goes on and on.
Usually when fear sets in I begin to “plan” and then I feel better — or so I think. I am beginning to think that the only reason I feel better is because my flesh is satisfied. I feel in control.
[callout]”Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” John 14:27 NASB[/callout]
But you know, it is really not all about me. It is about Him. Am I seeking His will, His ways, His plans — HIM at all?
It is only as I seek Jesus that peace comes. Peace comes as I do His will, as I follow hard after Him. There is no peace in comparing.
[callout]For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans 8:6 NASB[/callout]
We can only find peace in our “plans” when our plans align with His will.
I think today I am going to spend less time planning and more time seeking the only One who can give me true Peace — Jesus Christ!
