Homemade for the Holidays #20: Crocheted Baby Blanket or Afghan

I love to crochet, so when I saw this pattern online for a crocheted afghan I had to give it a try!  I made a small blanket for my daughter to use with her dolls, but you can make a full-sized afghan if you wish.  I LOVE this pattern.  It is so pretty.  You can do it all in one color, or use multiple colors making a striped afghan.  For this baby blanket I used Simply Soft yarn, but any worsted weight yarn will work.  I hope you enjoy this project!  I should note that even though I found a pattern online, I had to change it a bit because I couldn’t get the original pattern to come out right.  I “fixed” it and believe it is accurate now.  Have fun!

    1. I love this pattern too. I love that it works up pretty quickly and has a dainty look about it. Makes a perfect baby blanket or doll blanket for a little girl too. Glad you are enjoying the pattern!
    1. Hi Sheri! Love your name :). I can't remember how much this used, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't more than a skein of yarn. The blanket is not that big, so I am thinking that one skein will do. If you are planning on making one, maybe just get two skeins and then you should for sure have enough. If it only uses one skein, then you'll have enough to make two. Have fun!
      1. I have only met one other Sheri that I can remember, and she goes to my church. Thanks for the reply. I can't wait to start on this blanket!!
