HOW TO MAKE:

The night before, mix up the following ingredients and cover. Leave out overnight on the counter or up to 24 hours. [If you forget to start this the night before or prefer not to soak the flour, then simply mix up the ingredients, then proceed to the next step.]

4 cups whole wheat flour
1 cups buttermilk
3 cups water

In the morning, add the following ingredients to your bowl and mix well:

1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons salt
4 eggs

Add additional water, if needed, to get batter to desired consistency. Bake pancakes on a griddle or waffles in a waffle iron. Serve with pure maple syrup or applesauce on top. Yummy!

  1. Hi to the other Vesta Rodriguez...we have the same name...sorry, not related to the previous discussion, I just found it very interesting.
  2. what happens if you dont soak the flour for the wheat pamcakes will they be a different consistency or something else?
    1. Hi Vesta, If you don't want to soak the flour overnight, just mix all the ingredients together at once. They should turn out the same. If the batter is too thick, then add a bit more water. If the batter is too runny, just add a bit more flour. These are SO good! Enjoy!
