This is one craft that each of our kids have made at one time or another.  They smell SO good too!  The ornaments are fairly easy to make and would be great gifts for family and friends.

Cinnamon Ornaments

Combine the following:

  • 1 cup ground cinnamon
  • 4 Tblsp. white glue
  • 3/4 to 1 cup water

It should be the consistency of cookie dough.  Refrigerate for 2 hours.

Sprinkle hard surface with cinnamon, knead until smooth.

Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into shapes. Poke hole in ornament with straw for hanging.

Lay on wax paper at room temperature. Turn 2 to 3 times a day. Let dry for 4 to 5 days.

Once completely dry attach a string or ribbon.  You can also decorate them with some paint or just leave them plain.

  1. I've loved making the cinnamon ornaments for years now, but we can't make them anymore - discovered that one of our daughters gets a horrible case of hives when she is around larger quantities of cinnamon like that. Fortunately, she can still cook with cinnamon, and can eat cinnamon in recipes. But just not to make these wonderful smelling ornaments! Julieanne https://www.JoyInOurJourney.com
