In a day and age where we have so much information at our fingertips, I really appreciate the Tripps who provide such Godly counsel on parenting. What I appreciate about their books is that they focus on the heart of the child. Many times we want a formula or a 3 step plan to make our kids Godly and obedient, when our focus should really be on following the Holy Spirit and reaching our children’s hearts. Enjoy this 15 minutes video where Tedd and Margy Tripp discuss their book, Instructing a Child’s Heart.

  1. Sheri, this definitely hit home with me. I'm convicted and so thankful for His grace. Our ten year old son Jack has really been a challenge. He can be blatantly disrespectful, hot tempered and loves to lash out at our 14 year old daughter. We are trying so hard because but somedays, I feel like the worst mother. I appreciated their wisdom and loved especially when they said, "It is never too late." I also never thought about "sub-cultures" in our home, like video games and things like that. We definitely need to be more vigilant and aware of what our children are learning and absorbing. We aren't giving up on Jack (of course not!) and I know that God has big plans with that child. I definitely want to pray for His leading and wisdom to help us touch our kids' hearts. It's a huge job and responsibility, but I wouldn't want it any other way. Thank you for sharing this with us, my friend!
    1. I totally can relate Rene! The encouragement that it is never too late is so encouraging to me too. Hang in there, friend, and continue to be faithful doing what God has called you to do! He has promised that He is faithful!
