Books Read This Week - 03-18

I am really enjoying all the books I have read by Chautona Havig. One of the reasons I think I am enjoying them so much is that I am in a somewhat stressful season of life right now with all my children still home and my husband’s father needing extra help with medical issues right now. Having some good Christian fiction books to enjoy has been such a blessing! Between these books and my Bible study times, the Lord has really encouraged, challenged, and strengthened me to do what He is calling me to do each day. Praise Him!

Here are the books I finished and the ones that I plan on reading this coming week.

3 Books I Finished This Week

The Fiddlers Secret

The Fiddler’s Secret (Freedom Seekers #6) – We finished this book, the last in the Freedom Seekers series, last week. Again, I can’t say how much we enjoyed this series! If you are studying the Underground Railroad, I highly recommend reading this series with your children. Each book even comes with an awesome study guide at the back with tons of information, discussion questions, websites, and more.

Prairie

Prairie – Like I said before, this book was a little different than the other Chautona Havig books I’ve read. It was more fantasy I guess, but it was really good. Lots of spiritual lessons learned through the characters and story line about love, patience, forgiveness, and trust in God.

None So Blind

None So Blind – I picked up this one on Kindle when it was $0.99 (I think it still is!) and wasn’t planning on reading it this past week. But I ended up starting it and then finishing it yesterday! This was another great book by Chautona! I spent the day at my father-in-law’s yesterday helping him as he recovers from a surgery, and was able to finish up this book while he was napping. Loved it!

Books I Plan to Read This Coming Week

Rush Revere and the American Revolution – This is our current read aloud with the kids. We started it this week and while it is a bit different (think time travel), I think it will be good. After we complete this book, I have more books I want to read on the American Revolution. Watch for those recommendations coming soon!

Corner Booth – This is the newest book by Chautona Havig, just released yesterday! I was going to buy it, but then I realized that I could read it free through the Amazon Lending Library (you can do this only if you have Amazon Prime). I was SO excited! I “checked it out” and it is sitting on my Kindle ready to begin soon!

The Art of Work – A brand new book by Jeff Goins! I don’t know how much of this I will get read this week, but I look forward to digging in and learning some things. I love Jeff’s work and how he encourages you to follow God’s plan and purpose for your life. I’m really looking forward to this book!

For the Children’s Sake -I am still making my way slowly through this book and really enjoying it. There is a lot to think about as I read, so it is taking me longer than I thought to finish.

You Are Loved & Own Your Life – I am currently studying through these two books with friends. We read a chapter a week and then discuss together via email or Skype. These studies have been so good and I highly recommend them both!

  1. Hey, Sheri! It's always a joy to find others who are discovering Chautona, my favorite author, and also my friend. :) I have known her online since 2005. :) She is a blessing, as are her books. It was funny that I found this post today through your amazon page! I'm writing a post and was linking products, and came upon your Children's Draw & Journal book. I was like, "Is that my friend Sheri Graham?!" Sure enough, it's you! :) God bless!
