Books Read This Week - 1

I know I am going to love doing these posts every week. Some weeks I will get more reading done than others, but I look forward to sharing the things I am reading myself and also what we are reading aloud with the kids.

In spite of being busy during the holidays, I had fun doing a lot of reading. I forgot how much I enjoyed reading fiction and am definitely going to incorporate more into my reading this year. Now on to the books I finished this week and the ones I plan to read this coming week!

2 Books I Finished This Week

past forward4

Past Forward, Vol. 4 – I have really been enjoying this series of books!

teachingfromreset

Teaching From Rest – This was a short but encouraging read. Sarah does a wonderful job of getting the message across that homeschooling isn’t about the curriculum, it is about nurturing relationships with your kids. It is all about being present in the moment and living our lives to the fullest in obedience to Christ. She emphasizes having daily read-aloud times with the kids, which is right up my alley! Loved it!

Books I Plan to Read This Coming Week

Midnight Rescue (Freedom Seekers #3) – This is our current read-aloud. We started this series the end of last year and really enjoyed it. The kids have learned so much about the Underground Railroad and all that these people went through – not only those being rescued, but those doing the rescuing. To think about the faith in God that these people had is truly inspiring!

Past Forward, Vol. 5 – This series has been not only fun to read, but very encouraging. If you can tell, I have had a lot of fun reading some fiction books over the holidays!

Own Your Life – I should be getting this new book by Sally Clarkson in the mail this week. If so, I will most definitely be starting in on this one!
